 gnite Peace\n\nWe have more power than we think. Nonviolent action gives u
 s the tools and skills we need to resist authoritarianism and keep our com
 munity safe. From rapid-response to boycotts\, sit-ins to marches\, come l
 earn how to use this toolbox effectively as you move your principles into 
 action. \n\nIn this series of trainings (online and in-person)\, you will
  learn the basics of nonviolent strategy\, campaign design\, and action pl
 anning. You’ll explore some of over 300+ tactics and learn which ones ar
 e most powerful in these times. You’ll have a chance to try out role pla
 ys\, scenarios\, exercises\, and apply these ideas in small or mid-sized g
 roups. These workshops will apply special focus to resisting the threat of
  immigrant crackdowns in Madison and to solidarity actions with the nation
 wide efforts to stop immigration abuses and end authoritarianism. \n\nWe 
 will look at:\n\n 	How to move your values and principles into action\n 	3
 00+ tactics of nonviolent action\n 	Strategic noncooperation\n 	Nonviolent
  direct action\n 	Campaign design\n 	Action planning\n 	Affinity groups\n 
 	Scenarios and role plays\n 	De-escalation\n 	Nonviolent discipline\n 	Inn
 er preparation \n 	Case studies from history \n 	Success stories from re
 cent events\n\nThe in-person training on March 14 &amp\; 15 will also prov
 ide training for you to take certain modules back to your groups so you ca
 n train your network in these skills.\n\nWe recommend attending the two on
 line sessions before coming to the in-person training\, but it is not requ
 ired. You may also attend the online sessions even if you cannot attend th
 e in-person training. If planning to come on March 14 &amp\; 15\, plan to 
 stay for the entire time. \n\nMeet the Facilitators\n\nBekky Baker and Sa
 mantha Searles come from Cincinnati\, Ohio\, where their organization\, Ig
 nite Peace\, has worked with their immigrant rights coalition and local co
 mmunity on Know Your Rights trainings\, de-escalation skills\, nonviolent 
 direct action\, strategic noncooperation\, and neighborhood response teams
 . \n\nBekky Baker has a Master of Social Work from the University of Sout
 h Carolina and experience working in both micro and macro practice setting
 s. For the past four years\, she has worked as a Program Director at Ignit
 e Peace\, facilitating nonviolence and anti-racism educational programming
  and leading anti-death-penalty organizing.\n\n[caption id="attachment_688

  attended the University of Indianapolis to earn a degree in social work a
 nd later received her Master of Social Work from Washington University in 
 St. Louis. Previously\, she worked as a grassroots organizer for Communiti
 es United for Action. She joined Ignite Peace in 2017 as a program directo
 r\, facilitates nonviolence and anti-racism educational programming\, and
