Every weekend until the November 3 election, the Fight For Our Lives Democracy Tour is on the road in the UnityMobile, gathering neighbors, listening, and recording the stories that often go untold.
Those stories are becoming a documentary film, a shared record of Wisconsinites standing together for people, peace, and the planet.

OUR CASE FOR SUPPORT
What We're Doing
Since launching on Juneteenth, the UnityMobile has been on the road every weekend, and it will keep rolling until Election Day, November 3. So far, we have made more than 60 stops and met countless people who care about one another and about what is happening in their communities. At each stop, we host a Building Unity Gathering or join an existing public event. We connect, we listen, we collect the stories, and we promote a world that works for all of us.
From Ashland to Kenosha and Keshena to Beloit, we are filming the journey. Production is already underway, thanks to a generous anonymous donor who believes in the power of storytelling to unite us. Together, these efforts build the fabric we need for the long road ahead toward social and ecological justice.
The Need
We're in the runup to one of Wisconsin's most significant elections in the modern era. This election has already become a testing ground for the United State's newest ideas, even as tensions rise around some of the United State's oldest ones. The UnityMobile's wheels are already turning on the highway as we speed toward election day on November 3. Partnered with The Fight For Our Lives Coalition, we are focused on protecting lives, building power, and advancing a healthy democracy. Using the UnityMobile, we launched our tour on Juneteenth and will be on the road every weekend until the election.
At each tour stop, the team co-hosts a "Building Unity Gathering" or joins an existing public event. We connect, we listen, and we collect the stories. The tour is being documented throughout, capturing narratives from across the state that might otherwise go untold. The resulting documentary film will be a central part of the project's lasting impact, a shared record of the journey Wisconsin's movement builders are taking together.
Production is already underway, made possible by initial funding from a generous anonymous donor who believes in storytelling's power to unite Wisconsinites. Finishing the film will require additional funding for specialized labor, equipment, licensing, and post-production work such as public screenings.
Meanwhile, drivers, documentarians, and guests incur costs for food, lodging, parking, and connectivity at each stop. Every community gathering carries its own costs: venue fees, food for attendees, and event expenses tied to the tour's mission.
Without additional funding, the tour's impact will be constrained: less footage and airtime for community stories in the film, fewer stops and miles on the road, and a heavier organizing burden placed on our project volunteers.
Why It Matters
Wisconsin is one of the nation's most socially complex states, and we are heading into one of its most significant elections in modern memory. Right now, our immigrant, unhoused, LGBTQ+, and culturally and racially diverse neighbors and our one earth need protection, and our communities need each other. United we are stronger.
Beneath our differences, most of us long for the same things: unity, justice, and togetherness. This tour exists to bring those longings into shared experiences and to share the stories of people across Wisconsin who are creating a better future.
Forward
On bright sunny mornings everywhere from Ashland to Milwaukee, the UnityMobile awakes to the dew on the grass. Just as it is natural for grass to dress in dew, it is natural for human beings to be drawn to feelings of connection, love, and being part of something bigger than themselves. As the UnityMobile and its crew travel around the state, building voter turnout, carrying a banner of optimism and hope, and enabling everyday people to speak up and share their voice, Wisconsin transforms into a state where the human call for unity is amplified.
In a state that truly recognizes our connections and our need for closeness, powerful movements can rise out of Wisconsin and captivate both the nation and the world. From relitigating Act 10 to emancipate our workers, to stopping pipelines that abuse the skin of our planet and threaten its largest bodies of clean, fresh water, to building a world where peace, justice, and sustainability are the law of the land, Wisconsin's important actions and visions will be woven into our story.
Because we all deserve to experience the hope of a livable future, because we are more similar than we are different, and because we are in a number of existential crises that we intend to overcome, the Fight For Our Lives Democracy Tour and our resulting documentary seek your support, so that both can be used to continue uniting Wisconsin's strongest and Wisconsin's most underseen changemakers.
