What is Building Unity?
Building Unity is not a group. We are a project that has worked with dozens of groups over the past seven years in an effort to promote united action for peace, justice, sustainability, and democracy.
Our goal is to coordinate and facilitate collaborative action amongst many individuals and groups who share the goals for comprehensive justice and an end to war and ecocide. What we are for has been summarized in the Building Unity Solidarity Statement. You can sign on to endorse this statement here.
How do we do this?
We invite (or respond to requests from) our partners to join us in creating public awareness raising events that support policy changes that are in support of world peace, all forms of justice, sustainability, and democracy.
In short, we will do whatever we can to make sure that we are lifting up the voices of those who are oppressed, marginalized and historically excluded that are creatively holding a more hopeful vision for our future, and showing up to help bring attention to the important changes that need to happen in our world.
There is so much that we can do, if we take the time to sit down together, share our ideas and strengths, make plans and follow through in collaboration.
There is something for everyone to do. Perhaps you already know what you want to do… We can probably help you! Perhaps you’re not quite sure what you want to do… We can probably help you!
Please, reach out and let us build unity together. It is time to find our courage, and seize the day. It is time to align our gifts and support every member of our expanding team with the power of UNITY.
