A Call to Action Weekend Part 3 - “Freedom Caravans” and an "Assembly of Joyful Resistance"

*** Please note: Though originally planned for the Capitol Rotunda, the “Assembly of Joyful Resistance” will now be at Grace Episcopal Church – 116 W. Washington Ave. The Freedom Rides Caravans and the Assembly of Joyful resistance with be the culminating events of the Call to Action Weekend. 

  • Day 3: Feb. 22, Freedom Rides” and an “Assembly of Joyful Resistance”: – Communities These caravans will display signs we provide and grow in number as they travel toward Capitol Square from all corners of Dane County. You can find a “Freedom Caravan” location here. The departure time will depend on the specific location you choose, but all caravans should try to arrive at the Capital Square at about 1:00 PM. The caravans will circle the Capitol Square at least once before parking, and the event will conclude around 1:30 PM.After circling, participants are invited to gather at Grace Episcopal Church, located at 116 W. Washington Ave., Madison, WI, for an “Assembly of Joyful Resistance.” This event will feature music, singing, and more, beginning at 2:00 PM. Due to anticipated traffic in the area, please allow extra time for your commute to ensure you arrive promptly. The assembly will conclude around 3:30 PM.
