Freedom Ride 2/22/26 – Our work is not done.

Cars and Bikes are coming to ride around the Capitol Squared as a community-wide demonstration of our BU4NVA’s “Call to Action” to the Madison area to unite and get organized, trained, and ready to engage in nonviolent action.

We are encouraging all to try to get up to the Capitol Square as close to 1:00 pm as possible. For scheduling reasons, some will be arriving a bit later. If you can commit to being at a parking lot that others can meet you at, please fill out this form: tinyurl.com/Freedom-Caravans-Sign-up.

You can decorate your cars:

  • With your own posters, window paint, shoe polish, etc.
  • Print “Freedom Ride” poster using this link: https://tinyurl.com/Freedom-Ride-Poster
  • Or pick up some at my house (205 N. Sixth St.) on Thursday afternoon, or on Friday or Saturday almost any time, but call first to make sure that I’m ready for you. (608-630-3633)
  • Frequently updated information about where caravans are starting can be found here: tinyurl.com/caravan-info
  • We are asking “parking lot leaders,” if they are able, to have posters for others, blue painter’s tape to affix the posters to cars (we’re recommending driver and passenger door right below the window) and sticky notes to give to each driver to attach to the driver’s side rearview mirror so that it can be seen by the “Caravan Marshalls” who will be stationed at the East and West Washington entrances to the Capitol Square.  (Sticky notes on the mirror are not essential, but may be helpful so the marshalls will know which cars are with the “Freedom Ride” – of course the signage with help too. It will probably work best if you dry your mirror and put the sticky note on when you are at a stop at or near the Capitol so that it doesn’t blow off on your way to the Square.)
